The story of a dream.
June 13th 1995:
Jacopo Poli visiting the most prestigious Château Premier Cru of Pauillac (Medoc) in France and dreaming about distilling their grape marc.
October 18th 2007:
Because of several obstacles the dream seems unrealizable but courage, constancy and passion solve the difficulties. After a 12-year-siege, the doors of the castle finally open and Jacopo can enter to prepare the grape marc for the transport.
October 23rd and 31st 2007:
The grape marc is carried from the château in Pauillac to the distillery in Schiavon in insulated lorries.
Four drivers travel all night long to ensure maximum freshness.
October 24th – 25th November 2nd-3rd 2007:
Andrea and Jacopo get down to work: the historic still is ready for action.
For the very first time in the history of Grappa the best French grape marc is distilled in Italy.
April 29th 2008:
after six months of rest in stainless steel tanks, the spirit is set to rest and refine in 11 barrique produced by the cooper at the Château.
June 13th 2016:
after 8 years of aging and 21 years of patient waiting the dream comes true: the first batch of Poli La Première is bottled.
The result is a majestic and solemn brandy that preserves the flavors of the classic Bordeaux blend and mixes them with pure Venetian passion.
