Gin & Cheese tour's story

MARCONI46 keeps on touring Italy

The van is loaded.

55 pounds of Asiago cheese, 24 bottles of Gin, 99 pounds of cow (it’s a fake one, but it’s full size), more than a 100 bottles of Fentimans. Is that it?

Of course not! We still got the equipment to pack:

Cameras, tripods, stand, plastic cups… lots of plastic cups! And we’re finally off.

At the wheel we’ve got the iron man for which 36 hours straight are just the appetizer, Jacopo answering e-mails from employees and co-workers and there’s me with the air vent blowing hot air against me. Is it because it’s cold outside? Hell no! It’s 92° outside, but the aircon is broken and there’s no way to stop hot air blowing out of it…

Dario, Alberto and Jacopo Poli with Gina the cow

We get to these beautiful squares, desertic for the heat hammering down on our heads and ardent for the night yet to come.

So we start unloading! Under the sun obviously, and shirt and pants glue with sweat on skin, but as we unload the cow we hear voices of the amused crowd so we get pumped up.

Get the stand on his feet, banners, the gazebo, the hay bales (‘cause cow may get hungry) and finally the Gin&Tonic arrives!

Because there’s nothing like a Gin&Tonic against the heat stroke, everyone knows it.

And then people start coming, everyone wants to milk the cow, everyone wants to taste our Gin, the square is crowded and we laugh a lot with our straw hats, our cowboy aprons and a glass of Gin.

And when it’s 2 am and it’s time to load the van again what do we carry away with us?

We carry the pictures of a beautiful night, the laughter of all the people that have been with us and a thank you… thank you all, it’s been amazing! So I smile, get in the van again with the iron man at the wheel, Jacopo at the e-mails and me trying to stop this freaking hot air blowing against me!
